We try to create an intimate atmosphere where people feel comfortable listening, dancing or socialising.

Guest singers/performers: In general we feel that inviting people to contribute in this way always adds to the night (however good or bad the performance!). What seems clear is that no one likes too much of it (the 34-verse guy is rarely popular). We prefer to invite someone approximately every 30 minutes and for one song only (unless there is a passionate plea for an encore from the other guests).

Volume: To get the balance right between what’s punchy enough for dancing, and yet still allows people to have a conversation, is always going to be difficult. We generally strike a happy balance through a combination of advising those who have sensitive hearing not to sit where the sound focuses most, and leaving ultimate control in the hands of the person(s) who made the booking (Who is/are usually aware that ‘live’ drums have a volume-threshold below which they cannot go).

First Dance: We are happy to learn a song which might have special meaning for the Bride & Groom . Unfortunately time only allows for us to offer to learn one song. We also reserve the right to decide whether we feel we can do ourselves and the song justice. In certain cases, where we feel we can't perform the chosen song, we offer to play the original recording.

The following represents a small sample of our repertoire:

The following observations are our own!

They are meant as helpfull guidelines!

Some Golden rules:

Irish people really party when:

1.The music suits them.

2. The dancing starts somewhere between 9 and 10pm. Not too early and not too late!

3. The lights are down low (similar to night club lighting).

4. The music is loud enough for dancing

but that people can still talk at their tables.

5. There is a 30-45 min break after the speeches and before dancing.

6.The band are able to invite up guests preferably selected by some one from the wedding  party who would have an insight into which guest or guests would be entertaining.

7. The tea break is called after 90 minutes of dancing.

8. It helps greatly when the wedding party ie. bridesmaids and groomsmen make a special effort to continue the dancing after the first dance is performed. It is also better if the bride and groom stay on the floor for about ten minutes after the first dance.  Once the ice is broken the wedding will rock.

...and did you know?

Most wedding days run 30-90 mins late.

Big dance floors are intimidating.
